2011 could be considered as a successful year to tourism industry in with over 1.5 million tourists visiting this charming city. This is estimated to rise by 18.3% compared to the same period last year. This statistic marks a record of the number of visitors to Hoi An.
Figures further indicate that among these 1.5 million travellers, only about 650,000 visitors staying overnight with an average of roughly 2 days each person. A half of these travelers, approximately 750,000 tourists, are international travelers coming from different countries in Asia, Europe and America.

That great performance is believed to result from the effort of the city’s authorities to massively launch various new projects to promote tourism activities, as well as preserve and reproduce numerous tourism attractions of this allured city.
